| Guardianship Rights Legislative Day, sponsored by AARP and Rethinking Guardianship, was held on April 25, 2023 in Raleigh, NC and celebrated NC Senate Bill 308. This bill, which passed the Senate unanimously and is currently with the NC House Committee, will be a welcome improvement to North Carolina’s existing guardianship law, placing the person for whom guardianship is sought at the center of the guardianship process, and valuing each person’s unique capabilities to create common-sense solutions on a case-by-case basis.
